Vicious IS affiliate takes over large parts of Syrian Golan Heights

A small but violent off-shoot of the Islamic State has taken root just north of the Israeli-Syrian border and may be planning to carry out large-scale terror attacks against Israel, the IDF revealed on Wednesday.
The group, Shuhda al-Yarmouk, which the army believes is comprised of approximately 600 fighters, has taken up a position approximately 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) away from Israel within the Syrian Golan Heights.
Despite the terror organization’s relatively small size, the Islamic State-affiliated group possesses vast stores of weapons and poses a legitimate threat to Israel, a high ranking army officer told journalists on Wednesday.
Shuhda al-Yarmouk — the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade, named after the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Syria — has taken over large swaths of territory from the al-Nusra Front and controls a population of approximately 40,000 Syrian civilians, the IDF said.
The IDF’s Northern Command fears that sometime in the future a car packed with explosives could be rammed through the border into Israel, explosive devices could be planted along the border fence or anti-tank missiles and rockets could be fired at Israeli vehicles and people, the military said, though the army did not see such an attack as imminent.
Nevertheless, the army has stepped up its security along the border fence to help prevent such an attack, putting in additional blocks along the border, adding armored units to the area and setting up additional security cameras in the region.
In 2013, the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade claimed that it had no plans to attack Israel.
The Brigade gained notoriety in 2013 when it kidnapped a number of UN observers from an outpost in the Golan Heights.

2,700-year-old farmhouse unearthed outside Tel Aviv
Byzantine monastery with colorful mosaic also found nearby at site next to Rosh Ha’ayin
A 2,700-year-old farmhouse was discovered during recent excavations near the town of Rosh Ha’ayin, just east of Tel Aviv, the Israel Antiquities Authority announced Wednesday.
The ruins were unearthed during an excavation commissioned by the Rosh Ha’ayin municipality ahead of the construction of a new neighborhood. Dozens of schoolchildren from neighboring institutions took part in the dig, the IAA said.
The 24-room structure, some of whose walls were preserved over two meters high, was built around a central courtyard, where remnants of ancient grain storage and production were found.
Archaeologists also dug up the ruins of a Byzantine monastery, complete with a large mosaic floor bearing Greek inscriptions in its church, olive presses, residences and stables. The inscription says that the structure was built “under Theodosius the monk” and reads “Blessed be your arrival, blessed be your departure, Amen.”
The farmhouse was likely inhabited for centuries until the area was abandoned in the Hellenistic period, around 2,200 years ago. Centuries later, during the Byzantine period, it was repopulated and the monastery built.
The IAA said it plans to preserve the ruins in situ and open them to the public.

ISRAEL TO DEPLOY ‘IRON BEAM,’ WORLD’S FIRST LASER-BASED AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is expected to deploy the world’s first laser-based air defense system. The new system, known as “Iron Beam,” was developed by Israeli defense contractor Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd.
The weapon system will extend the ability of the IDF to protect Israeli civilians from Palestinian Hamas militants rocket attacks by using a laser to target and “bring down like flies” short-range rockets, artillery shells, and mortar bombs with trajectories too small for Israel’s famed Iron Dome anti-rocket batteries to engage and intercept effectively.
Both the Iron Dome interceptor and the new Iron Beam system are manufactured by the state-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. in a project funded by the Israeli Ministry of Defense and extensively underwritten by the U.S.
According to the Daily Mail, Rafael officials said the new system was the result of five years of research and development in solid-state laser. It was enthusiastically touted by a spokesperson for Rafael, Amit Zimmer, as the real-life version of futuristic “Star Wars” technology.

Palestinian terror group claims rocket fire on northern Israel
Sunday’s rocket attack on northern Israel was claimed by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC), Kol Yisrael radio reported Sunday night, citing Lebanese media.
The reports were based on comments by Lebanese security officials who said that the rockets used in the attack were transferred to a nearby Palestinian “refugee camp” and were fired at Israel after Palestinian organizations threatened to respond to the assassination of Hezbollah terrorist Samir Kuntar in Syria, which was blamed on Israel.
On Sunday afternoon, at least three rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. Locals reported hearing at least one explosion. There are no reports of injury or damage.
A short time later, the IDF confirmed it sent the Israeli Air Force (IAF) into southern Lebanon in direct retaliation for the attack.

Jewish-Christian fellowship hopes to make aliyah more inviting
Aliyah is already expected to reach record highs in Israel next year, with an estimated 30,000 new immigrants set to arrive to the country.
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein who helped break the Jewish Agencies’ monopoly on Aliyah, and was one of the original funders of Nefesh B’Nefesh, is now taking his knowledge and the backing of his organization to focus on doubling if not tripling the rate of Aliyah from a host of countries.
Eckstein, who is the director of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) hopes to bring between 4,000-6,000 Jews from Moldova, France, Turkey, Uruguay, Venezuela and the Ukraine to Israel next year. “4,000 is a very conservative number I think,” said Eckstein, “it will more likely be closer to six.”
The IFCJ started a new program in November of 2014, to bring Jews from countries other than North America on Aliyah to Israel. The program met with such resounding success that within the first year they succeeded at bringing 2,000 Jews on Aliyah, which is nearly ten percent of all the immigrants to Israel in the past year.

Bill: Allow Jews to pray on Temple Mount
MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) submitted a bill demanding that Jews be allowed freedom of worship on the Temple Mount this week, hoping to pave the way for full religious freedom at Judaism's holiest site.
The bill effectively would demand that Israel's religious freedom laws include full access of worship to every holy site in the country with regard to all religions - including the Mount.
While Israel technically guarantees freedom of religion, the law has a "lacuna" which "does not protect, specifically, freedom of worship and freedom of access."
"Therefore, it is proposed to add to the current law [a clause] protecting the holy places, [allowing] freedom of worship for all religions with free and fixed access, so that this fundamental right will be defined by law and will result in freedom of worship anywhere and to anyone."
"Freedom of worship and freedom of access of all religions to the holy places is a basic right in a democracy and is derived from the Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty," the explanatory note continued. "In many cases brought for judgment before the Supreme Court [...] the court emphatically spoke about the fact that every person has the right to commune with his Maker anywhere, anytime."
"This is part of freedom of religious worship, part of freedom of expression."
Five additional MKs have already signed the bill: MK Shuli Muallem-Refaeli (Jewish Home), MK Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home), MK Mickey Zohar (Likud), MK Avraham Nasoga (Likud), and MK Oren Hazan (Likud).
The bill, if passed, would see a stark change to the current "status quo" on the Mount, which allows full freedom of access to Muslim and Christian visitors, but bans Jewish prayer entirely - and, recently, has also seen Jews allowed to visit for very short and specific periods of time. Israel Police have taken increasingly draconian measures against Jewish Temple Mount visitors, including arresting a man Tuesday for lifting his hands.

The Bounty of Israel
Truly the LORD is being good to ISRAEL!
For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; (Deuteronomy 8:7-9)
They came to the Eshkol Valley; and there they cut off a branch bearing one cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two of them; they also took pomegranates and figs. (Numbers 13:23)
From Ezekiel 36:
8 “‘But you, mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home. 9 I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown, 10 and I will cause many people to live on you—yes, all of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11 I will increase the number of people and animals living on you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 12 I will cause people, my people Israel, to live on you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children.
29b I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30 I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.

Orthodox Rabbis Issue Groundbreaking Declaration Affirming ‘Partnership’ With Christianity
Read: Orthodox Rabbis Issue Groundbreaking Declaration Affirming ‘Partnership’ With Christianity
A group of prominent Orthodox rabbis in Israel, the United States and Europe have issued a historic public statement affirming that Christianity is “the willed divine outcome and gift to the nations” and urging Jews and Christians to “work together as partners to address the moral challenges of our era.”
“Jesus brought a double goodness to the world,” the statement reads. “On the one hand he strengthened the Torah of Moses majestically” and on the other hand “he removed idols from the nations,” instilling them “firmly with moral traits.”
“Christians are congregations that work for the sake of heaven who are destined to endure, whose intent is for the sake of heaven and whose reward will not denied,” the text reads.

Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Moshiach Yeshua
Ephesians 2:11-21 (CJB)
11 Therefore, remember your former state: you Gentiles by birth — called the Uncircumcised by those who, merely because of an operation on their flesh, are called the Circumcised — 12 at that time had no Messiah. You were estranged from the national life of Isra’el. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God’s promise. You were in this world without hope and without God.
13 But now, you who were once far off have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah’s blood. 14 For he himself is our shalom — he has made us both (Jew and non-Jew/Christian) one and has broken down the m’chitzah which divided us 15 by destroying in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Torah, with its commands set forth in the form of ordinances. He did this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups (both in Faith in Yeshua) a single new humanity (one new man) and thus make shalom, 16 and in order to reconcile to God both in a single body by being executed on a stake as a criminal and thus in himself killing that enmity.
17 Also, when he came, he announced as Good News shalom to you far off and shalom to those nearby, 18 news that through him (Yeshua) we both have access in one Spirit to the Father (the God of Israël) .
19 So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s family. 20 You have been built on the foundation of the emissaries (apostles) and the prophets, with the cornerstone being Yeshua the Messiah himself. 21 In union with him the whole building is held together, and it is growing into a holy temple in union with the Lord.

Israeli archaeologists find Hebrew inscriptions on ancient slab of marble near Lake Kinneret
Hebrew inscriptions were discovered on an ancient piece of rare marble discovered by Israeli archaeologists during an excavation on the shores of Lake Kinneret.
The 1,500-year-old slab was dug up by scientists in Kursi, which lies on the eastern shore of Israel’s most important source of drinking water.
The finding confirms historians’ belief that the ancient village of Kursi was inhabited either by Jews or Christians.
“This is the first indication that there was a Jewish presence, and it reinforces the belief that the town of Kursi was where Jesus performed the 'Miracle of the Swine.'"
According to tradition, Jesus healed two men said to have been possessed by demons by pushing them into a herd of pigs.
The excavation was supervised by Prof. Michal Artzi of Haifa University and Dr. Haim Cohen in concert with the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Israel Nature and Parks Authority.

Jesus / Yeshua is Making Headlines in Israel
The second largest internet portal in Israel is putting Hebrew-language testimonies about Jesus on their front page, and 95% of Israelis are hooked into the internet everyday, all day.
Walla!, the mainstream Israeli media giant, is producing, at their own expense, a series of up to 24 live interviews with Messianic Jews about Jesus. In the interviews, a well-known Israeli actress asks Israeli believers questions about faith in Jesus.
Some of the topics being discussed are:
Who are these Messianics Jews;
What is the difference between Messianic Judaism and Christianity;
Talmudic fables intended to dismiss Jesus;
Why is the Hebrew New Testament not available in Israeli book stores;
Isaiah 53
Management at Walla! had noticed popular video clips about Jesus produced by the Israel College of the Bible (ICB) on social media. In an unprecedented and exceptional move for a mainstream Israeli media company, Walla! asked the team at ICB if they could produce their own series about Jesus for the Israeli public.
Walla! has already begun placing the clips about faith in Jesus on the front page of their site, and they are uploading new clips during the busiest hours of their Internet traffic. Already on the first day of exposure, the numbers of visitors and comments are enormous.

Amsterdam onnodig hard tegen teruggekeerde Joden

Chanukkah 1932 Kiel, Germany
At sundown tonight, December 6th, we will light the first candle of Chanukkah. This picture was taken in 1932 in the city of Kiel, Germany, just a month before the Nazi party rose to power. This ‘chanukkiah’ (9 branched menorah) stood in the window of the home of Rabbi Akiva Baruch Pozner, directly across from of the Nazi headquarters in Kiel. His wife Rachel took the picture, and wrote on the back of it “Their flag calls for the death of Judah, but Judah will survive, and our light will overpower their flag”
