Islamic Terrorist opens fire at Beersheba bus station, murders one IDF soldier, wounds 11

An IDF soldier was killed and 11 more people were injured in a terror attack at the Central Bus Station in the southern city of Beersheba Sunday night.

Among the injured was an Eritrean man shot and seriously wounded by responding security forces, who initially mistook him for a terrorist.

According to the police, following an initial investigation, the attacker stabbed a soldier and stole his weapon, opening fire on the crowded bus terminal. The soldier later died of his wounds after being rushed to a hospital in the area.

Rescue officials said 11 people were injured in the attack, which occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Two of the victims were reported to be seriously wounded. At least four of those hurt in the attack were cops, police said.

The terrorist, who was not initially identified, was shot and killed by responding forces after holing up in a bathroom.

A Message About the Philistines

Jeremiah 47

This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines and Gaza

2 This is what the Lord says:

“See how the waters are rising in the north;
they will become an overflowing torrent.
They will overflow the land and everything in it,
the towns and those who live in them.
The people will cry out;
all who dwell in the land will wail
3 at the sound of the hooves of galloping steeds,
at the noise of enemy chariots
and the rumble of their wheels.
Parents will not turn to help their children;
their hands will hang limp.
4 For the day has come
to destroy all the Philistines
and to remove all survivors
who could help Tyre and Sidon.
The Lord is about to destroy the Philistines,
the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.[a]
5 Gaza will shave her head in mourning;
Ashkelon will be silenced.
You remnant on the plain,
how long will you cut yourselves?
6 “‘Alas, sword of the Lord,
how long till you rest?
Return to your sheath;
cease and be still.’
7 But how can it rest
when the Lord has commanded it,
when he has ordered it
to attack Ashkelon and the coast?”

Christian nurse saved from death as she cries out, 'Lord Jesus! Help me,' driving away her Palestinian knife attacker

A 78-year-old Dutch nurse found herself face to face with a Palestinian terrorist who was stabbing her on the chest aboard an Israeli bus, and all she could do was cry out loud in Dutch, "Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus! Help me, help me!"

God's response was instantaneous. As soon as her attacker heard her utter Jesus name and cry out for help, the apparently frightened Palestinian stopped and ran away towards the back of the bus, Marike Veldman recalled while recovering from her multiple stable wounds at an Israeli hospital, according to Charisma News.

The Palestinian terrorist attack happened Tuesday last week. That fateful day Veldman was among other Christian passengers in a bus when the two terrorists suddenly sprang into action. "They began to cry 'Allahu Akbar.' The man in front of me began with a knife stabbing into me," Veldman said.

"The other man started shooting. People screamed very loudly. It was awful. I cried constantly in Dutch: 'Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus! Help me, help me!"

Two Christian passengers died in the attack while 16 were severely wounded, according to Israeli authorities.

Although severely wounded, Veldman believes God directly intervened to save her from a gruesome death.

The Christian woman, originally from the Netherlands, is now in stable condition in an Israeli hospital as she recovers from multiple stab wounds, including a punctured lung.

Veldman moved to Jerusalem many years ago to take care of Palestinian orphans and other needy children, according to One For Israel blog.

"She independently raised Palestinian and Arab Israeli children who came from hard circumstances," said Nicole Jansezian, director of Christian friends of Shalva. "They were foster children and this was official through the government. The Christian community has responded by providing meals and praying with her at the hospital."

The Christian community in Israel is calling on Christians worldwide to pray for Veldman's recovery as her lung injury is considered grave. Prayers are also being sought for the scores of victims of the terrorist attacks going on in Israel.

FORMER BBC CHAIRMAN CONDEMNS BBC COVERAGE ON VIOLENCE IN ISRAEL

Former Chairman of the BBC, Lord Grade of Yarmouth CBE, has expressed concern about the BBC’s coverage of the recent violence in Israel and the West Bank, in a letter to the organisations’ Director of News and Current Affairs, James Harding. In his complaint, Lord Grade said that the BBC coverage was at times misleading and failed to provide a wider context of what is an “undoubtedly complex issue”.

Lord Grade criticised the BBC’s inability “to fulfil its obligation to viewers” by not showing viewers examples of Palestinian Authority officials praising the attacks and calling for more. The former BBC Chairman underlined that Palestinian incitement, “has played an undeniable part in stoking tension recently and is an important part of the story”.

The complaint was directed at a report by Orla Guerin on Sunday October 11th, about the recent wave of attacks across Israel.
Lord Grade criticised the report’s apparent promotion of “equivalence between Israeli victims of terrorism and Palestinians who have been killed by Israeli security forces in the act of carrying out terror attacks”.

He highlighted that: “An emotional interview is conducted with the father of a dead Palestinian youth who had been killed committing a fatal terror attack. However, the report failed to show the emotional distress caused to Israelis by any of these recent attacks. This is inexcusable”.

Lord Grade continued: “Additionally, it was improper of the correspondent to claim that “there’s no sign of involvement by militant groups”, before immediately showing footage of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) banners at the home of a 19 year-old terrorist who carried out a deadly knife attack at Lions Gate in Jerusalem on 3rd October. PIJ is a well-known Palestinian terror organisation and it has since claimed responsibility for the attack and praised by Hamas, another internationally proscribed terror organisation. This directly misleads viewers”.

Commenting on the footage of an elderly Palestinian gentleman confronting Israelis soldiers in Hebron that were firing gas canisters, Lord Grade criticised the lack of description of the wider context. He said: “The carefully selected footage failed to show the stone-throwing protestors prompting the presence and action of Israeli security forces. While this footage is entirely worthy of broadcast, I strongly feel that viewers lacked visual and oral description of the wider context thereby limiting their awareness and understanding of what is an undoubtedly complex issue”.

The letter went on to state: “Regrettably, this is not the first time the standard of reporting and impartiality has been unsatisfactory in recent weeks. On Saturday 3rd October, I was disappointed to see the BBC News website publish a misleading and counter-factual headline: ‘Palestinian shot dead after Jerusalem attacks kills two’. I note reports that this headline underwent four revisions following public criticism”.

Lord Grade is the former head of the BBC, ITV, and Channel 4.

Palestinian Arabs Set Fire to Joseph's Tomb

About 150 Palestinian Arabs on Thursday night arrived at the Joseph’s Tomb compound in Shechem and tried to set it on fire.

IDF soldiers who arrived at the scene surrounded the compound and used protest dispersal means to chase away the Palestinians, who began throwing rocks and firebombs at the soldiers.

The soldiers were able extinguish the flames. Initial reports indicated that damage was caused to the women's prayer area. There were no injuries.

Joseph's Tomb came under attack and in May 2000, during which it was destroyed and burned by Palestinian Arabs. It was eventually restored and, since that time, Jews regularly visit the site and pray there.

A year ago, Palestinians tried to set fire to the compound, but were dispersed by the Palestinian security forces.
