US to Begin Enforcing Labeling of West Bank Products
After months of heated debate over the European Union (EU) labeling products made in Judea and Samaria, the US is now quietly doing the same, but without the fuss or discussion.
The US Customs Department released a statement last Saturday reminding importers of a regulation from 1995 that goods produced in the West Bank must be labeled as such, and not labeled “Made in Israel”.
“Goods produced in the West Bank or Gaza Strip shall be marked as originating from ‘West Bank,’ ‘Gaza,’ ‘Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza,’ ‘West Bank/Gaza Strip,’ ‘West Bank and Gaza,’ or ‘West Bank and Gaza Strip’. It is not acceptable to mark the aforementioned goods with the words ‘Israel,’ ‘Made in Israel,’ ‘Occupied Territories-Israel,’ or any variation thereof. Goods that are erroneously marked as products of Israel will be subject to an enforcement action carried out by US Customs and Border Protection,” the memo read.
State Department spokesman Mark Toner was asked at a press conference if this was intended as a rebuke to Israel for recent settlement expansion.
He responded that it was “simply a restatement of previous requirements” and does not “impose additional requirements”. He stressed that it was in no way a boycott.
It was pointed out that the policy had not been enforced in 20 years.
Toner claimed the decision to enforce it now came as a result of recent complaints, but he declined to specify where the complaints originated.

Ramon Airport, Israel's new airport, opening in 2017
Ramon Airport, which is now in the final stages of construction about 10km north of Israel’s southern-most city of Eilat, is set to open in 2017, replacing Eilat Airport in the city center, which handles domestic flights from Tel Aviv and Haifa, and Ovda Airport, about 40 minutes north, which handles low-cost and charter flights from Europe, in the winter season. The airport is located in the Timna Valley, and aside from its beautiful location, looks set to be one of the most beautiful airports ever seen.
The new Ramon Airport, named after Ilan Ramon, Israel’s first ever astronaut who died in the 2003 Colombia Disaster, and his son Asaf Ramon, who was killed a few years later in an aircraft accident, is also known as Timna Airport. The terminal has been designed by leading Israeli architecture firms, Mann Shinar Architects and Moshe Zur Architects, and is set to handle 2 million passengers a year upon opening, expanding to 4 million passengers a year later on. It is set to take care of all domestic traffic to Eilat, and the growing number of international low-cost flights from Europe, including airlines such a Ryanair and Monarch, who started flying to Ovda Airport in the 2015-2016 winter season.

China Announces Support for a Palestinian State with Capital in Jerusalem
China will come under Gods judgement/curse for this recognition
China has called for the establishment of a Palestinian state along the pre-1967 borders, with “East Jerusalem” as the capital.
China is the latest country to join the call for a Palestinian state with the demand that Israel give away land liberated during the 1967 Six Day War, including the strategic Golan Heights, the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights as well as eastern Jerusalem – the holiest city in Judaism – which would be the designated capital.
“China firmly supports the Middle East peace process and supports the establishment of a State of Palestine enjoying full sovereignty on the basis of the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital,” Chinese President Xi Jinping stated Thursday in Cairo during his first address ever to the Arab League, RT reported. He also announced a $7.6 million grant for a solar power station to improve the lives of the Palestinians.

Update on the terror attack
Shlomit Krigman, a 24-year-old woman who was stabbed during yesterday's islamic terror attack in Beit Horon, has died of her wounds. Dotors at Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital worked diligently to save her, but were unable to do so.
A statement from the Beit Horon community noted that "Shlomit was loved and well-known. She did her National Service with Bnei Akiva in Beit Horon. During the last year Shlomit lived with her grandfather and grandmother in the community."
The funeral will take place at 1:00 pm today (Tuesday), at Jerusalem's Har Hamenuhot Cemetery.
Yesterday afternoon, two terrorists stabbed Krigman. They then tried to enter a nearby store but were pushed out by the owner, who held a shopping cart between himself and the attackers. Once the two realized that they would not be able to get into the store, they ran towards another woman and stabbed her before running off.
The second victim, a 58-year-old woman with moderate stab wounds to her upper body, is still being treated at Sha'arei Tzedek Hospital. Doctors say that her condition is improving.
A nearby security guard shot and killed the two terrorists at the scene.

Israel to appropriate 'West Bank' land near Jericho
Israel confirmed on Thursday it was planning to appropriate a large tract of fertile land in the West Bank, close to Jordan, a move likely to exacerbate tensions with Western allies and already drawing international condemnation.
In an email sent to Reuters, COGAT, a unit of the Defence Ministry, said the political decision to seize the territory had been taken and "the lands are in the final stages of being declared state lands."
The appropriation, first reported by Army Radio, covers 154 hectares (380 acres) in the Jordan Valley close to Jericho, an area where Israel already has many settlement farms built on land Palestinians seek for a state.
The land, already partly farmed by Jewish settlers from Vered Yeriho in an area under Israeli civilian and military control, is situated near the northern tip of the Dead Sea. No Palestinians currently live there in the area, which is north of Kibbutz Almog.

Israel’s oil in Golan, Megiddo-Jezreel Valley
Zion Receives Initial Oil and Gas Drilling Approval in Israel
On 6 November, Zion Oil announced the public release of a resource assessment report, with estimated prospective recoverable oil volumes ranging from 20.7 million barrels to 234.6 million barrels of oil. If a discovery is made, the “best estimate” for recoverable hydrocarbons is at 69.7 million barrels.
According to a December 2007 Jerusalem Post article, the Bible Scriptures that led John Brown back in the 1980s to believe there would be oil in Israel are from Deuteronomy 32:13, when Moses says “[God] would suckle him with honey from a stone, and oil from a flinty rock,” and Deuteronomy 33:24 with Moses blessing Asher “he shall be accepted by his brothers, and dip his foot in oil.”
It is no surprise then that in a 7 October press release, Zion Oil noted Dr. Yuval Bartov from Afek saying, “the important thing is to know the oil is in the rock and that’s what we now know.”

Saeed Abedini freed from Iranian jail
Four Americans have been released from prison in Iran, including Pastor Saeed Abedini. The others released are Washington Post journalist Jason Rezaian, Marine veteran Amir Hekmati, and an undisclosed person. The release was part of a prisoner exchange between the United States and Iran.
Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham has tirelessly advocated for Pastor Saeed’s release and encouraged prayer for him.
“We have confirmed that Pastor Saeed Abedini has been released from prison and is in the Swiss Embassy in Tehran along with three other Americans. They will be making their way home in the next few days,” he said this morning. This is an answer to prayer, and we praise the Lord for how He has worked. I know the family would appreciate your continued prayers in the days ahead.”
Pastor Saeed’s Story:
Formerly a devout Muslim, Pastor Saeed was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ in his Tehran bedroom more than a decade ago. After establishing numerous house churches, he eventually moved to the United States with his wife, Naghmeh.
He later returned to Iran with the government’s permission to build an orphanage. He was initially detained in late July 2012 while visiting family in Tehran. Then, on September 26 of that year, members of the Revolutionary Guard raided his parents’ home and took Pastor Saeed to an unknown location. Four days later, his family was informed that he was in solitary confinement in the notorious Evin prison.
“Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners” (Psalm 146:5-7).

Israel’s First “Adir” F-35 Fighter Jet on its way
The head of Israel’s defense delegation to the US, Aharon Marmarosh, has signed off on the first F-35 fighter jet, received from American military and defense company Lockheed Martin, Israel National News reported Sunday. The two parties celebrated the near completion of the jet, nicknamed “Adir”, which will be finished and launched in June.
The ceremony took place in Fort Worth, Texas, and included the Israeli delegate signing over the completion of the external body of the plane. He wrote, “Onwards and upwards. May you succeed in all of your duties.”
With the body complete, work can now be started on vital internal systems, such as advanced electronics, as well as on the powerful engines.
“This is an historic day for the Defense Ministry and for Israel, wherein we receive the body of the first F-35 ‘Adir’ plane,” said Marmarosh. “The new F-35 planes – which are the fifth generation of planes, and the most advanced that the Defense Ministry has purchased – will allow for the continued advancement of the Israeli Air Force, and will greatly increase their capabilities of defending Israel against a variety of potential threats.”
“Today signifies the next step in tactical defense for Israel,” added Jeff Babione, head of the F-35 project for Lockheed Martin. “Lockheed Martin is pleased with the continuing and long-standing partnership with the IDF and the Israeli Defense Ministry. The F-35s will ensure continued partnership between Lockheed Martin and the Israeli Defense Ministry, as well as the Israeli Air Force, for decades to come.”
The F-35 is a Joint Strike fighter jet, which is a stealth jet. Thus far, the Israeli Defense Ministry has purchased 33 of these “type A” F-35’s, which are capable of regular takeoff and landing procedures. Each plane cost $110 million, for a total cost of over 3 billion shekels.
According to the purchase deal, originally signed in 2010, the first two planes will arrive in Israel later this year, with subsequent planes being delivered by year’s end, 2021.

New Mossad chief: Israel still needs God's help
The Prime MInister's National Security Adviser Yossi Cohen, who on Monday was named as the next head of the Mossad, gave a particularly powerful speech at his synagogue on Saturday, noting how Israel was established with God's help and needs His help today just as much.
Cohen does not himself wear a kippah but is what is known as a "traditional" Jew, meaning he generally observes the mitzvot, and on Shabbat attends his synagogue in Modi'in.
"Without siyata de'shamaya ('Heavenly aid' in Aramaic - ed.) the state of Israel would not have been established," Cohen said in a Biblical exegesis at the synagogue this Shabbat, reports Walla on Saturday night.
"That was true then - and today too, we need siyata de'shamaya."
Cohen grew up in a religious family in Jerusalem and attended Or Etzion Yeshiva in his youth. To this day he maintains contact with the yeshiva's dean, Rabbi Chaim Druckman, who is a leading religious Zionist rabbi.
The synagogue was filled with people who, in addition to taking part in the Shabbat services, wanted to hear Cohen's words.

Israel tests prototype of the ‘AirMule’
from: Israel Homeland Security
The Israeli designed AirMule fan craft UAV has made a first untethered light on December 30th. The flight was made in Megiddo airfield in northern Israel.
Rafi Yoeli, CEO of Tactical Robotics Ltd’s parent company Urban Aeronautics said that the test schedule in Megiddo includes plans for a demonstration of the autonomous AirMule’s cargo delivery capability aswell as a ‘beyond the line of sight’ flight along a path running through an adjacent, forested area.
The AirMule and its ‘Cormorant’ export variant are both compact, unmanned, single engine,VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft. This one-ton aircraft is presently powered by a single, 730 shp TURBOMECA Arriel 1D1 engine.
The production aircraft will use a more powerful ARRIEL 2 variant capable of providing 985 shp at takeoff. Internal lift rotors enable the AirMule to fly inside obstructed terrain where helicopters are unable to operate. It will also be a maritime force multiplier on vessels that are too small for a standard unmanned helicopter. The ‘Cormorant’ variant will carry a 440 Kg useful load to a distance of 300 Kilometers. At closer ranges higher useful loads are possible. The maximum speed of Cormorant will be 100 Knots and it will be able to operate at altitudes of up to 18,000 feet.

Vatican officially Recognizes Palestine
”I (God, the Lord) will bless those who bless you (Israel, the Jewish peopld), but I will curse anyone who curses you; and by you all the families of the earth will be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
An agreement signed last year making official the Vatican's de facto 2012 recognition of "Palestine," has come into effect, the Holy See said on Saturday.
The Vatican signed its first treaty with the "State of Palestine" last June when it called for moves to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and backed a two-state solution.
"The 'Holy' See and the State of Palestine have notified each other that the procedural requirements for [the accord's] entry into force have been fulfilled," the Vatican said in a statement on Saturday.
The U.N. General Assembly adopted a resolution in 2012 recognizing the Palestinian Authority as a nonmember observer state. This was welcomed at the time by the Vatican, which has the same nonmember observer status at the United Nations.
In October 2014, Sweden acknowledged the State of Palestine, a decision that drew condemnation from Israel and led to tense relations between the two countries.
Israel has previously called the Vatican accord a hasty move that could damage prospects for advancing a peace agreement and impact its future diplomatic relations with the Vatican.

IDF fires artillery after bomb explodes on Lebanese border
A large explosive device detonated near an IDF force at the Lebanese border on Monday afternoon, leading the IDF to fire artillery shells at Hezbollah targets in the area.
The explosion targeted two of the IDF's Caterpillar D9 bulldozers. The IDF has not said whether any soldiers were hurt in the attack.
"We fired artillery at Hezbollah targets near the border," an IDF spokesperson said. "It happened near Nahal Sion." The spokesperson denied there was an attempt at kidnapping soldiers, anti-tank fire, or infiltration of terrorists into Israel.
The Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, which they say was committed by the "Samir Kuntar Brigades."

Two killed, nine injured in Tel Aviv shooting
Again a very sad day in Israël
Two people have been killed and nine others injured in a shooting along Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Street.
Magen David Adom paramedics at the scene provided first aid treatment to four seriously injured victims - including two in critical condition - and three in moderate condition, as well as the fatally injured victim, who they were forced to pronounce dead at the scene.
The shooting took place at Dizengoff 122, close to Dizengoff Center Mall, as the area was packed with people. It began at a popular pub, and the attacker reportedly shot at several other institutions as well as at pedestrians walking along the street.
Paramedics reported "difficult scenes," with multiple casualties lying on the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Contrary to initial reports, the gunman managed to flee the scene on foot. Police are currently in hot pursuit. Witnesses say at least 10 gunshots were heard at the scene, apparently from an assault rifle.
One witness who works at the pub targeted by the gunman said the killer first sat on a nearby bench and waited calmly until the bar filled with people, and then began shooting randomly.
