"By faith, Abraham lived as an alien (foreigner, stranger) in the land of promise (Canaan, Israël), as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise (from God). For he looked for (waited for, expected) the city which has the foundations (the new, heavenly Jerusalem), whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrew 11:9,10)
