FBI Looking into Jared Lee Loughner Connection to American Renaissance Organization Known for Racist Slant
Gabrielle Gifford is the first Jewish female elected to such a high position in the US government.
Fox News, via the blog of Greta van Susteren, posted a supposed internal memo from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) concerning Saturday's deadly shooting incident in Arizona that indicated a possible connection between the suspected shooter, Jared Lee Loughner, and an organization called American Renaissance. The memo indicated that suspicion of a connection existed due to information gathered from Jared Lee's MySpace and YouTube videos. Investigators are currently seeking a motive for the mass slayings at a Tucson political gathering early Saturday morning that left six dead and at least 12 more wounded, including Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Authorities believe Jared Loughner may have been accompanied at the event and are searching for an individual seen in Lurline's vicinity before the shootings.
The Fox News posting read: "*no direct connection - but strong suspicion is being directed at AmRen / American Renaissance. Suspect is possibly linked to this group. (through videos posted on his myspace and YouTube account.). The group's ideology is anti government, anti immigration, anti ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti Semitic. Gabrielle Gifford is the first Jewish female elected to such a high position in the US government. She was also opposite this group's ideology when it came to immigration debate.*"
American Renaissance, abbreviated to AmRen among its followers and the readers of the organization's magazine, is often described as a racialist organization. Racialism is defined as a belief system where there is an acknowledging of the differences of race purportedly without the trappings of classism, ethnicism, and/or racism. However, the Southern Poverty Law Center has listed American Renaissance's founder, Jared Taylor as a white separatist, an advocate of the separation of races.
Note: A favorite book of gunman Loughner was Hitler's Mein Kampf.
