Erdogan accused Israel of "waging state terrorism"
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Israel of "waging state terrorism" over last week's airstrikes on a Syrian weapons convoy en route to Hezbollah in Lebanon and a biological weapons research facility northwest of Damascus.
Israel has neither affirmed nor denied the attacks.
"As I say time and again, Israel has a mentality of waging state terrorism," Erdogan told reporters over the weekend. "Right now there is no telling what it might do and where it might do it."
"We cannot regard a violation of air space as acceptable," he continued. "What Israel does is completely against international law. It is beyond condemnation."
Erdogan failed to mention Turkey's attacks on a Syrian military outpost last October that reportedly killed several soldiers.
Turkey's parliament approved the response after a mortar fired from Syria killed a woman, her three daughters and another woman and wounded 10 others, including two policemen.
At the time, Erdogan said his country "will never leave unreciprocated such provocations by the Syrian regime against our national security."
