Romanian PM to Netanyahu: We oppose PA statehood bid

Israeli PM Netanyahu begins rare visit to Romania, Bulgaria.



Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday met with his Romanian counterpart Emil Boc in Bucharest, who said that he opposes a Palestinian unilateral declaration of statehood.

Netanyahu left for Romania earlier Wednesday morning as part of a rare visit to the country and Bulgaria, and was scheduled to meet with Romanian President Traian Basescu Wednesday evening.

Netanyahu, meeting with the Romanian prime minister in Bucharest, invited his counterpart to come visit Israel soon.

The prime minister was scheduled to fly to Sofia on Thursday for meetings with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and President Georgi Parvanov. Netanyahu will be accompanied on the trip to Bulgaria by some eight ministers who will take part in a joint government meeting. He is slated to return to Israel Thursday evening.

Christenen helpen samen Holocaust-overlevenden

Jeruzalemse christelijke instellingen helpen een bejaardentehuis in Haifa te kopen en te renoveren voor Israëls krimpende en arme gemeenschap van overlevenden van de Holocaust

Yad Ezer LeChaver (יד עזר לחבר Helpende Hand voor Vrienden) en de Internationale Christelijke Ambassade Jeruzalem zijn een partnerschap aangegaan om samen twee woontorens in het hart van Haifa te kopen en te renoveren, om een thuis te bieden voor 130 overlevenden van de Holocaust in hun laatste jaren.

Langs het huis is een stille tuin ontworpen waar de overlevenden kunnen zitten genieten.

Met dit gebied wordt de nagedachtenis van Ruth McDowell uit Nieuw-Zeeland geëerd, om aan haar te denken als een echte vriendin van Israël, die leefde uit de essentie van haar bijbelse naamgenoot zoals uitgedrukt door de onsterfelijke woorden van de Schrift, "uw volk zal mijn volk zijn en uw God is mijn God."(Ruth 1:16).
