The Gospel Message Is Contained In The Genealogy From Adam To Noah (Genesis 5)

Did you know that the gospel message is contained in the genealogy from Adam to Noah that we find in Genesis chapter 5? When we learned what you are about to read it blew our minds.

If you have a Bible, turn to Genesis chapter 5. That chapter contains a genealogical list that goes from Adam all the way to Noah. When you take the meanings of all of those names and put them together something amazing happens.

To learn more about where the meanings of the names come from, check out this excellent article by Chuck Missler. The Hebrew and the English for each of the names is reproduced below....

Hebrew English

Adam = Man
Seth = Appointed
Enosh = Mortal
Kenan = Sorrow
Mahalalel = The Blessed God
Jared = Shall come down
Enoch = Teaching
Methuselah = His death shall bring
Lamech = The despairing
Noah = Rest, or comfort

So when you put it all together into one sentence, it says this:

"Man is appointed mortal sorrow, but the Blessed God shall come down teaching, and His death shall bring the despairing comfort."

That is the message of the gospel right there!
